Job Description:

At Regions, the Asset Management Portfolio Manager will serve as a Portfolio Manager for assigned managed accounts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partners with Regions Trust administrators and clients to develop investment objectives and goals

  • Implements investment policies, procedures and actions developed by the Investment Strategy Policy Committee (ISPC)

  • May serve as a member of the IRC and participate in Regions Trust Regional Investment Review Committee

  • Initiates and monitors required action to effect security transactions

  • Cultivates new trust and investment management accounts and retain current relationships

  • Provides advice and guidance to clients and Regions trust personnel

  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in the securities market to ensure prudent investment management

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.


  • High School diploma

  • Three (3) years applicable knowledge or experience in investment / portfolio management, brokerage, finance or equivalent


  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics supplemented by technical training in financial and economic markets

  • CFA designation

Candidates for the Institutional Portfolio Manager (IPM ) opportunity will be highly regarded with an excellent track record in his/her current environment. The successful candidate must develop and manage relationships with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and knowledge.

The Institutional Portfolio Manager is responsible for effectively communicating Regions investment philosophy, process, and current strategy to the largest and most sophisticated clients of the organization. As a member of the investment team, he/she will meet with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries, to explain the investment philosophy and process, and construct customized investment solutions, and to provide updates on the investment outlook for Regions. The IPM will serve as an integral member of the investment management organization, focusing on collaboration and partnership with key distribution partners in Wealth Management.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned accounts for institutional clients, which requires significant client relationship management and new business development.

  • Increases Assets under Management (AUM) and revenue by conveying the Regions investment process and philosophy to prospective clients to assist in the sale of investment services.

  • Builds and maintains customer relationships through quality customer services, anticipating client needs and proactive communications to meet defined objectives.

  • Communicates complex and detailed information related to investment management process and portfolio construction to institutional client base.

  • Implements asset allocation strategies based on client goals and objectives developed by the Investment Committee.

  • Provides advice and guidance to current and prospective clients and Regions team members

  • Keeps abreast of trends and developments in the investment markets to ensure prudent investment management.

Additional Preferences:

  • Five to ten years of applicable knowledge or experience in institutional consulting/portfolio management strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership/influencing/interpersonal skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills

  • Ability to easily adapt to all defined technology platforms

  • CFA or CIMA preferred
