At Regions the Corporate Communications Public Relations Administrator plays a vital role in maximizing the effectiveness of Regions’ local Market Executives, while minimizing the time commitment on our leaders in fulfilling their public-facing role with the bank. Working in close consultation with Community Engagement and Corporate Responsibility team members, Market Public Relations Managers plan and execute local PR activities that leverage both local and company-wide reputation assets.
Reputation management and public relations – Provides direct support to Market Executives for high profile speaking engagements, local media interviews/outreach, and company announcements
Corporate social responsibility – Helps promote local charitable giving, sponsorships, associate volunteerism activities and community development outreach in concert with teammates
Economic Development and Government Relations –Hands-on support for engagement with local elected officials, economic development initiatives
Corporate Advocacy – Is an active participant in company-sponsored PR campaigns, events, web and social media content and other programming. Also provides coverage of Regions events for regions.doingmoretoday.com and life@regions
Serves as an expert support player for Market Executives and CRCE team members, the role of PR Administrator is highly interdependent
In addition to supporting Corporate Communications programs, day-to-day activities and longer term priorities will be established through regular collaboration with several groups, including: Community Affairs, Government Affairs, and Media Relations
Will reach agreement with other CRCE colleagues as well as any Market Executive support staff to determine specific responsibilities for executing a project or events, including details such as securing the location and staging the event, developing and sending invitations etc.
Is responsible for media relations related to the project and for providing content to regions.doingmoretoday.com
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related
A minimum seven (7) years of experience in a media, public relations, agency or not-for-profit environment
Be willing to travel
- Highly preferred financial services and/or banking experience in public relations
Skills and Competencies
Communications generalist with strong writing skills
Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that requires creative thinking and attention to detail
Be comfortable working independently while executing a broad range of traditional (e.g.: media relations, events) and emerging (e.g.: social media, brand journalism) communication strategies at a local level
Project management skills
This position can report into a major metro market in Regions footprint with a preference in Florida or Texas.
