At Regions the Information Security Engineer is responsible for the research, technical analysis, recommendation, configuration, and administration of systems and procedures to ensure the protection of information processed, stored or transmitted.
•Provides security design, consultation, and technology governance oversight for various projects and initiatives
•Provides assistance to system users relative to information systems security matters
•Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge
•Acts as information liaison to various business units and information technology departments
•Acts as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
•High school diploma or GED and ten years experience
•Bachelors degree in a related field and eight years experience
•Must be able to prioritize assignments while working on multiple projects
•Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills
•Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or other industry certification
Additional Job Description:
The function of the WAF Security Engineer is to design, implement, support and maintain all aspects related to Citrix NetScaler at an enterprise level along with other network edge equipment for Regions including application support and external DNS.
The WAF Security Engineer is ultimately responsible for hands-on operations and engineering activities to ensure the successful implementation of mission critical Citrix NetScaler and Imperva projects, and work with application teams to create solutions spanning multiple data centers.
Web Application Firewall (WAF) experience around the Citrix Netscaler, with transitional experience to Imperva WAF solutions is highly preferred
Excellent troubleshooting skills as well as a strong understanding of TCP/IP as it pertains to packet inspection and TCP flow in the Network and Application flows
Network Fundamentals and Web/Application experience
A good understanding of the operational aspects of Load Balancing & WAF devices
Solid Networking background with a good understanding of switching, network routing, and firewall concepts
Excellent knowledge of best current security practices, firewalls, network administration, application/web fundamentals, load balancing principles, IP transit, routing protocols and all aspects of networking needed to support the mandated SLAs when applicable
