Job Description:

At Regions, the Business Unit Compliance Group Manager leads multiple teams of first line of defense risk management experts who advise on business and/or product decisions. Associates at this level are expected to influence strategic direction through leading major projects, programs, or processes with significant business impacts and ensure that all compliance activities within their area of expertise follow the necessary rules and regulations. Associates in this position are also expected to maintain extensive contact with internal customers and regulatory agencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees multiple teams of compliance staff and compliance efforts for designated business unit

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the implementation and execution of testing compliance controls

  • Advises business unit on key compliance issues and provides guidance in the identification, assessment, management, and resolution of operational and regulatory risks

  • Supports business unit by overseeing the development of processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, including participation in team meetings, business process improvement efforts, and compliance improvement initiatives

  • Maintains extensive knowledge of rules and regulations and their impact on products, services and operations for a specific line of business

  • Oversees development of policies and procedures to comply with federal regulations and applicable state laws

  • Provides guidance to various departments regarding complex compliance issues and implementation of new compliance requirements

  • Ensures timely, accurate and appropriate submission of information requested by regulatory agencies

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.


  • Bachelor’s degree and twelve (12) years’ directly related experience, with at least six (6) years of management experience


  • Master’s degree

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager Certification (CRCM)

Additional Job Description:

The Technology Risk and Change Management Manager is also responsible to act as a facilitator, responsible for the overall change management process. Including:

Change Management:

  • Review and challenge request for changes timing, risk levels, back out plans, etc.

  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with Technology Change Review Council (TCRC) to discuss upcoming changes and severity events and reinforces the council’s position has having the authority to re-asses the risk level or impact level of a request for change and can request additional information before approving a change or can reject it

  • Authority to approve or reject a change that is requested/needed outside of the TCRC timeline

  • Ensures that all the activities designed to implement the change are as per the standards and ensures policies and procedures around change management are appropriate and in alignment with Technology Change Management best practices, including ITIL standard

Risk Management:

  • Maintain reporting for all Technology related issues from second line of defense, third line of defense, and external audits.

  • Build and implement a first line quality assurance process to ensure appropriate testing of internal technology controls

  • Manages process for review and validation of remediation activities around Technology related issues prior to remediation deadlines/submissions

  • Coordinates metrics and thresholds for Technology to ensure appropriate Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are in place and being actively measured, monitored, and reported on

Candidates should have proven ITIL change management experience and technical experience to be able to appropriately challenge change request details and remediation activities that are technical in nature
