At Regions, Information Technology (IT) Strategy and Transformation Function Manager supports the development and execution of the enterprise IT Strategy. This role will be responsible for leading and/or supporting various types strategic initiatives have potential impact to people, process, and technology. The IT Strategy and Transformation Analyst will collaborate with resources within the department and across the enterprise to drive change within the organization.
Supports the development of the strategic vision and supporting strategic plan for the IT organization
Leads transformation of various aspects of the Technology Department through the execution of strategic initiatives to improve the ability to support both short and long term business goals
Leads the use of new technologies/methodologies to the departments delivery teams inclusive of Agile, DevOps, Robotics, APIs, and Low Code Platforms
Conducts communication, training, and coaching to various stakeholder groups to gain buy in and ensure appropriate utilization of new tools/methodologies
Monitors and measures success of implemented programs to ensure sustained improvements are being realized
Builds and leads communities of technology associates
Collaborates on new concepts with technology and business stakeholders
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
The position is incentive eligible.
Bachelors degree in Software Development, MIS, Engineering, Finance or related degree
Fifteen (15) years experience
The Release Train Engineer is a servant leader and coach that applies Lean-Agile thinking in optimizing the execution on an Agile Release Train (ART). The role combines excellent organization and communication skills with a comprehensive, systems-based thinking to escalate impediments, manage risk, ensure value delivery, and drive relentless improvement on the ART. As Chief Scrum Master for the Agile Release Train, the Release Train Engineer maintains an environment of mutual influence as an effective change agent for the ART, its Scrum Masters and Agile teams.
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using tools such as Kanban boards and other visible information radiators
Establish and communicate the calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
Facilitate PI Planning readiness by enabling the preparation of Vision and Backlogs, and Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
Facilitate the PI Planning event
Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program-level objectives for the Agile Release Train and publish them for visibility and transparency
Assist in tracking the execution of features
Assist in the management of Program-level dependencies and risks
Facilitate regular synchronization meetings at the ART and Value Stream (where applicable) level
Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating Feature and Capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where applicable
Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
Encourage collaboration between teams System Architects
Work with Product/Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
Improve the flow of value through value streams using the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps
Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
Report status to Business Owners/Lean Portfolio Management and support related activities
Understand and operate within Lean Budgets
Facilitate System and Solution Demos
Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops; assess the Agile maturity level of the ART to coach improvement
Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
Experience in Banking, Management Consulting, Technology, or related field.
Degree from a top Undergraduate and/or Graduate program.
Strong change manager with the ability to influence associates at all levels.
Ability to partner within and across departments to achieve transformational goals.
Extensive experience in leading Agile transformations and/or leading Agile teams.
10+ years’ experience as an Agile Coach, Release Train Engineer, Software Development Lead, or Scrum Master.
5+ as a Software Engineer (.NET, Java preferred)
Experience working in a software development role.
Experience providing training opportunities at both the team and senior leadership level.
Working knowledge of DevOps best practices.
- One or more Agile certifications, preferably SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE).
