At Regions the Senior Credit Officer is responsible for Corporate, Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, Private Wealth, or SBA loan approvals on a local basis. Serves as a resource for those transactions requiring Bank Senior Credit Officer and other related approval including ensuring sound risk management practices. 2nd Line of Defense position reporting to a credit executive in Risk Management. Position reports to the Credit Head in Risk Management.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
•Financial services experience
•Twelve (12) years of Commercial / Corporate credit or related experience

The Real Estate Senior Credit Officer will be a high level expert with significant credibility, visibility, and recognized credit judgment and intuition which has been demonstrated and tested during variable market cycles. The incumbent will possess highly developed expertise and demonstrated superior judgment to handle larger, complex credits and portfolios containing exceptional challenges. The Real Estate Senior Credit Officer must have the ability to provide guidance to lenders and senior management in all aspects of credit structure, portfolio review, and strategy and will utilize special expertise and work proactively and collaboratively with lenders to ensure proper credit structuring and development of tactics to protect the bank’s interests for the largest or most complicated transactions.
Demonstrated success with: managing asset quality; risk evaluation and assessment; risk pricing to ensure optimum profitability and portfolio quality; compliance with Credit Policy; strategic “best practice” portfolio management and reporting; ongoing assessment of market risk; and product risk assessment;
Demonstrated proficiency in financial instruments and markets along with attendant risk; and
Can participate in Credit Process Task Forces recognized as a subject matter expert.
Excellent credit skills, lending experience or comparable credit experience with a balance between volume and quality, excellent oral and strong written communications, planning, organizing and controlling, effective working relationships, technical, analytical, quantitative analysis skills, influencing and negotiating skills, computer skills, team building, and results orientation.
Independent reasoning ability, specialized proficiency with minimal supervision, and ability to exchange ideas.

Candidate should exhibit a keen understanding of commercial real estate lending with demonstrated expertise in structuring commercial and residential real estate loans.
Fifteen years or more in commercial banking or related field with emphasis in credit risk management, credit policy, credit approval, credit administration and/or review.
