At Regions, our Risk Quantitative Analyst is responsible for a range of quantitative initiatives that include stress testing and loss forecasting, economic capital, risk ratings, portfolio valuation, optimization, origination strategies, and other portfolio management analytics. Associates at this level has knowledge and experience in discipline, but are still acquiring knowledge and skill and building that knowledge of the organization and processes. Associates at this level will solve a range of straightforward problems and analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
Assists with designing, enhancing, and implementing a variety of mathematical, financial, statistical, econometric, machine learning, and artificially intelligent models
Assists with designing appropriate tests to determine whether models work as designed and monitors existing models for adequate performance
Documents models, defends methodological choices, and remediates identified technical issues for the purposes of independent model validation
Works collaboratively with other quantitative analysts with a diverse technical background to share knowledge and implement the most appropriate analytical solution
Collaborates with portfolio managers to identify risks in the portfolio
Collaborates with credit portfolio managers, Risk Management, Finance, Treasury and lines of businesses to identify risks and opportunities in the portfolio, making recommendations on new origination and risk mitigation strategiesThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field that requires specific skills in advanced mathematics. Several examples of educational fields that typically require these skills are Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering.
One (1) year experience in econometrics, mathematical finance, statistical methods or related field Preferences
Master’s degree in highly quantitative field that requires specific skills in advanced mathematics. Several examples of educational fields that typically require these skills are Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering. Skills and Competencies
Understanding of advanced analytics software such as SAS
Experience in modeling of consumer assets
Proficient skills in SQL, VBA Script, Excel, Python, JAVA and C#
Data management skills
Writing, communication and presentation skills
