At Regions, the Project Manager Team Lead (PMTL) partners with multiple lines of business (LOB) and/or corporate support areas in the identification, planning and implementation of high impact projects requiring significant financial investments and broad resource commitments. The PMTL II will assist LOBs in translating strategic plans into project proposals, feasibility assessments and comprehensive business cases for inclusion in Regions capital planning and budgeting process. Additionally, the PMTL II will have supervisory responsibility for 4-10 project managers/administrators and will allocate those resources to manage the delivery of high value projects across multiple project portfolios.
Works with business leaders to develop comprehensive project business cases inclusive of financials and resource estimates, infrastructure and technology requirements, and high-level project timelines
Ensures appropriate project approval processes are adhered to prior to project initiation
Identifies, shapes and assigns project management resources to deliver high value projects that achieve key business outcomes
Recognizes project interdependencies and works with LOB leaders to prioritize and sequence project timelines across the portfolio
Monitors health of multiple project portfolios & proactively addresses schedule delays or cost overruns impacting other related projects
Assesses project management competencies of team and establish development plans to close any identified competency gaps
Maintains high level of sponsor and stakeholder satisfaction related to project delivery and project manager performance
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Bachelors or Masters degree (Master degree is preferred) in Business, Finance, Accounting or related study
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
Ten years successful project management related experience
Five years banking or financial services experience
Three years of management/supervisory experience leading teams of three or more direct reports
Excellent written/verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills
Ability to translate strategic plans into actionable projects with tangible business results
Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practices (PMBOK, ITIL, SDLC, Agile, etc)
Talented at forging strong partnerships with key business leaders and technology stakeholders
Practical experience with change management, leadership development and engagement techniques within management teams in a professional corporate setting
Demonstrated ability to consistently drive results and deliver a multiple portfolios of projects on time & on budget
Ability to create and deliver influential, executive level communications with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm
Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
