Job Description:

At Regions, the Operations Analyst investigates team workflows and business procedures, and compiles and reports volume, productivity, quality and other statistical data. Analyzes business issues and makes recommendations to maximize operational efficiency and quality, and ensure compliance standards are adhered to.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Works under limited to moderate supervision to analyze and solve mildly complex operational, systems-related, and/or customer issues

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

  • Identifies project requirements by interviewing customers, analyzing operations, determining project scope, and documenting results

  • Creates and maintains databases and management reports; analyze and interpret data to identify anomalies, trends and opportunities for improvements

  • Works with managers to apply data to business goals and analytical requirements, which may include capacity planning, volume forecasting and unit costing

  • May define user requirements and assist with user acceptance testing

  • May manage small projects requiring some coordination and/or contribute to task forces or project teams

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.


  • Bachelors degree in Business, Data Management, Statistics, Math, Economics, or related field with five years of relevant experience

  • High school diploma or GED with seven years of direct analyst experience

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both technical and business staff

  • A fundamental understanding of project management

Skills and Competencies

  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)

  • Problem solving and investigative skills

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Report writing, including charts, graphs, etc.

  • Aptitude for math and the ability to review and understand numeric data, graphs, and statistics.

  • Detailed and thorough

  • Able to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects

  • Proactive and adaptable

  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to translate complex issues to multiple levels in the organization

  • Ability to multi-task; able to prioritize and work accurately, flexibly and efficiently under pressure
