Job Description:

At Regions, our Financial Analyst II develops financial planning systems and procedures designed to protect assets. Gathers, organizes and documents relevant financial information.

Primary Responsibilities

•Analyzes, consolidates and interprets financial data

•Prepares detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management

•Monitors actual results of financial data against plans, forecasts and budgets

•Consolidates a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of both short-term and long-term business plans

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

•Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a directly related field

•Two years experience with management reporting or financial analysis

Preferences

•Experience within a financial services industry is preferred.

Skill Set Desired

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Excellent PC skills including experience with Microsoft applications

•Good knowledge of financial statements and strong quantitative skills

The M&A Analyst supports the M&A Associate in preparing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative output necessary for the evaluation of potential M&A transactions. Critical to this role is running financial models and developing robust analysis to support the evaluation of potential transactions and research of potential M&A segments and sellers. The M&A Analyst produces analytical outputs in support of M&A strategies and acquisitions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops and prepares quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the M&A evaluation and/or divestiture processes

  • Support the M&A process by providing and running financial models and analytical tools that value acquisition candidates

  • Provide analytical support of potential transactions, evaluating the pro forma impact on Regions and attractiveness of transactions

  • Prepares communications materials and perspectives on business segments and acquisition candidates

  • Researches potential M&A segments and sellers in support of M&A strategies

  • Maintains libraries of bank analysis and research, including the team’s models, analytic tools, capabilities, and templates

  • Participates in stages of the life cycle of an actual transaction including assisting the M&A Associate in organizing and participating in due diligence

  • Develops materials in response to market transactions

  • Maintains strong relationships with the M&A team’s functional partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Master’s degree optional

  • Advanced certification such as CPA or CFA preferred

  • Two to five years of experience in financial services, finance, accounting, management consulting, or investment banking

  • Experience in analyzing financial performance; strong working knowledge of financial statements, preferably in the banking industry

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and project management capabilities
