Job Description:

At Regions, the Operations Analyst investigates team workflows and business procedures, compiles and reports volume, productivity, quality and other statistical data. Analyzes business issues and makes recommendations to maximize operational efficiency and quality, and ensures compliance standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Uses statistical analysis, solves complex operational, systems-related and/or customer issues with possible financial risk

  • Creates and maintains databases using data from multiple sources

  • Applies complex statistical data to business strategies and presents recommendations to senior management in a meaningful format

  • May manage complex production efforts and large projects requiring the coordination of resources, budgets and deadlines

  • May partner with technology group to define business requirements, perform user acceptance testing and implement complex changes

  • Facilitates communication to resolve problems and advance strategies

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.


  • Bachelors degree in Business, Data Management, Statistics, Math, Economics, or related field with seven years of relevant experience

  • High school diploma or GED with ten years of direct analyst experience

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both technical and business staff

  • A fundamental understanding of project management

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)

  • Problem solving and investigative skills

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Report writing, including charts, graphs, etc.

  • Aptitude for math and the ability to review and understand numeric data, graphs, and statistics

  • Detailed and thorough

  • Ability to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects

  • Proactive and adaptable

  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to translate complex issues to multiple levels in the organization

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work accurately, flexibly and efficiently under pressure

  • Experience with SQL queries/scripting and SQL reporting is strongly preferred

  • MUST have advanced Excel knowledge

  • Knowledge of data mining tools

  • Knowledge of DDA/SAV systems is a PLUS

  • Fraud and/or financial services experience is a PLUS
