Job Description:

At Regions, the Associate Relations Manager oversees a team of Associate Relations Business Partners responsible for administering programs designed to establish and maintain effective associate relations through the uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring appropriate plans, policies, and procedures are in place to manage, resolve and report associate issues.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to Associate Conduct team and monitors the resolution of associate relations issues to ensure legal compliance and organizational consistency

  • Performs investigations of potential ethical violations and institutes/enforces penalties for actions conflicting with the organization's values

  • Stays current on employment law, as well as employment trends; Proactively researches information to ensure compliance, provide appropriate consultation

  • Develops and exercises business plans, policies and procedures and may also be responsible for various projects to improve efficiencies

  • Designs and delivers training to Associate Conduct team and Regions managers on associate relations and workplace issues

  • Develops departmental plans, including business, production, operational and/or organizational priorities

  • Implements policies covering terms and conditions of employment, employment counseling, employee assistance programs, grievances, disciplinary issues, maternity and paternity pay and leave, and severance

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.


  • Bachelors degree

  • Ten (10) years experience working in Human Resources

  • Strong background in associate relations, and broad knowledge of the HR function

  • Prior management or supervisory experience


  • HR Accreditation preferred (SPHR, SHRM – SCP, CCP, etc.)

  • Employment law background

  • Strong experience developing managers and HR teams in coaching, counseling, and problem solving

  • Highly professional with superior verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with all levels of an organization and diverse audiences

This position will be responsible for managing multiple programs, projects, and key initiatives for the Office of Associate Conduct within the HR function.

Position will liaison with HR Business Partners across the function as well as other departments such as Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, and Security.

Position will sit in downtown Birmingham, Alabama and will report to the Head of Associate Relations & Conduct Officer.

•Effectively partners with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization to achieve desired project outcomes

•May work with project sponsors and functional owners to organize and lead the implementation of process improvement initiatives

•Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures for analyzing business processes are required

•Highly motivated with minimal need for direct supervision
